Has anyone here got experience using the Passport III to play NTSC-J N64 games on a PAL console? There are a few Japan only titles (Sin & Punishment etc) that I'd like but I don't want to invest in a whole new machine. Thanks.

Apparently it's all about inputting the right codes but opinions vary as to which ones work. Plus it seems you can kill the Passport cart by using dodgy codes. Region protection on games really annoys me. If companys don't want to spend the extra doing a western localisation of a title and finding distribution fine - but don't prevent people from playing a legit copy on legit hardware overseas.

Nintendo want all future consoles to be region locked. Buyers are showing their annoyance with this. Hopefully region locks will someday be a thing of the past.

Nintendo is for kids, even since the famicom days. That is why they are popular, like Joe Camel. They want it region lock so people will import the games. Right now I have two Genesis, and two dreamcast just to play games, on X region. That is old news. The friggin gamecube does not even have the X region font set.
