What do you think about 3D gaming? I have tried a few 3DS games in Japanese stores. Wasn`t my cup of tea and did not add anything to the gameplay for me. I had a headache after playing for a few minutes, which is what many others have also said. This is after all 80`s tech. The only reason it wasn`t available before was because the hardware would have cost too much.

After trying the 3DS out myself last week I can´t say I´m keen on the 3D aspect of it, had to tone the effect down a bit and just turned it off in the end, set to high it was a bit of an eyesore.

But yeah, as you said I can´t really see how this can add to the gameplay, it will also be next to useless on rides as you have to be in the exact line of sight to get the effect. My biggest problem though with the 3DS is that it is region locked, pretty stupid decision of Nintendo.

As for the future, I don´t really care much if it takes off or not as long as it will remain a option that can always be turned off , I also don´t like watching movies in 3D.

Until holographic technology allows for true 3D I don't think it will revolutionise gaming. The biggest advance on recent years is the motion controller which has genuinely changed the way games are played.

I took a teather class ( which is part of my areas of studies. Seriously 3d3d is a gimmick. They did it to draw people back to the media, since everyone to anyone would download frequently on the go. Seriously the problem with downloading has gotten so bad, let me show you

First you give somebody internet acess from AOL. Aol can pump at least 56kb to home base, which is like 21Kb per second. With Cable and fios, and even Satelite you  have just gave too much resources to a consumer. For a college it is okay but for a consumer it is not.

Then you create a medium ( VHS DVD BETA ) that is easy to pirate. I remember being a young adult and buying the bootleged version of Rated-R movies, and stores that sold copies for 10 bucks. Back then buying the official copy was getting your monies worth. Nowadays everything is digital, so the next thing occurs

Arming consumers with computers that can read X medium. Computer junkies knew for years how to copy VHS the proffessional way, but now a bootlegger can get the data and make a perfect copy. Thank you Electronic desktop publishing.

Yes it is a gimmick. Just like how idiot makes a Starwars on Blu-ray. Who the hell is going to buy that? Seriously the consumer beleives they need displays going over 5000x5000 display. That is nuts and insane. It has gotten so dumbfounded and insane that Printers are depending on resolution over DPI in some cases, which is a bad combination.

It is like the Icon the website creator has. That monitor should be shaped like a real blasted televsion. Not a widescreen. Widescreen is made to mimic the teather, that is why films use Widescreen angle shots. Widescreen on television is a bad combination. Destroys animation, and the TV standard.

Anyways , I grewed up with 2d, and work in 2d mostly. Their are enough "fu's " and "cha-fu's" out their who will buy this stuff. just like the way we were kids. Remember the days when a new PSX game was twenty bucks?

...........................................

IDK your race , creed, or culture but all of this is benifiting European people, and discriminating non-european people. Like in China they have banned 3d3d movies from being played. In Japan most products are made for the older residents for the obvious reason, In America it is the complete opposite for the older folks. Even India. That is why actors are happy in this case, because it does not affect them.

With the internet they can erase peoples idea of television, and turn them into consumer zombies. RIght now their is the "rerelease of the Lion King" in movies, but it is in 3d. Why? Because my generation ( the jungle beat generation ) grewed up with Simba, and what is known as commercial Disney. Disney is like the new Mtv, period. It cost 100 dollars to see one damn show???

That is my take on 3d. I am still amazed by the Zelda OOT on the N64. I will admit the 3dNDS will have some nice titles on it, but i am not going to be looking at them until i have me some great grand children.

Right now the eracist, selfish, big-headed actors are jumping for joy. They don't care about if the television set is shaped a certain way, or what is displayed.
